Noam Chomsky denounces old friend Hugo Chávez for 'assault' on democracy

I confess I have always liked Chomsky, he has a very good grasp on what is going on in many places.

If one wants change, one must have power. There is no way around it. If you do not have the power, then someone else does. If that someone oposes you change, then you either get the power or admit defeat (aka no change).

One you got power and start change. Some will see you as a tyrant (the ones that where benefit by the previous status quo). Some will see you as a saviour (the ones that where abused by the previous status quo). There is no way around this either.

Thus is impossible for a leader that brings changed to be loved by everyone.

At the end, is the responsibility of the Venezuela people to decide if they want to keep Chaves in power or not.
