My home page keeps on changing in K-meleon. Went on the KM forum and the answer they gave doesn't work in Windows 7.
It was also kind of snotty. Don't want to deal with them anymore.
Something to do with permissions I think.
Thanks for any help.

there is a way to lock out homepage changes in IE by a little registry patch
probably a similar setting for k-meleon
let me see what i can find, Jack...

dedndave

well, here is a registry change for IE
it can also be done by using the policy editor, i suppose...
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel]
"Homepage"=dword:00000001

looking around, i don't see anything similar for k-meleon
if there were such a setting, it might be in the config file

you might try setting the policy for IE and see if it accidently works for k-meleon, too
probably not   :P

Thanks Dave for responding.
In the Registry I got to microsoft then there was no IE in Windows 7.
Guess it's elsewhere.
haven't tried setting the policy IE yet.

you may have to create the key and value if no related policies have been set for the current user
you should be able to just copy the text above into a TXT file and make a REG file out of it
then click to open - and import it to the registry
