Just one virus and an ad-aware found in the installation !

The virus was found by AVG (see joined file) and the ad-aware by Avast !

Is it really a problem ?

I downloaded from http://website.assemblercode.com/masm32/m32v10r.zip

There is a new subforum for false positives in AV software. Rather than clutter up the announcement, I have split the posting off the original topic. AVG has defective heuristic scanning and is not reliable on small files.

The new download was from http://www.oby.ro/masm32/m32v10r.zip

Is there a clean version of MASM V10 ?

Grincheux,

Read what I said, the junk end of AV products have bad heuristic scanning. ALL, EVERY and ANY file in the SDK is clean as they are all built from source. Get rid of the trashy AV stuff you are using and get something like Kaspersky or Eset's Nod32.

I submitted dumpcu.dll to http://virusscan.jotti.org/. The attachment contains the results.

Note the status report:

POSSIBLY INFECTED/MALWARE (Note: this file was only classified as malware by scanners known to generate more false positives than the average scanner. Do not consider these results definately accurate. Also, because of this, results of this scan will not be recorded in the database.)

And I can add that Norton AntiVirus also found nothing.
