Hi all,

After I have decided to retreat the Solar OS and Hostile Encounter Game forums from Spooks asm comunity...
For who might be interested I have re-created new forums for my full ASM projects here:
http://www.oby.ro/forum/index.php

The main topics are about:
-Solar OS
-HE RTS
-Human Evolution talks

Take care since the "Humman Evolution" forum might contain issues not suitable for this board ;)
Unfortunately I am uncertain if I will have the time and dedication to reinsert the old posts back into the new forums...

Needless to say that I do recomend that you put your MASM and ASM questions here...

Ambition is a lame excuse for the ones not brave enough to be lazy.

Hello,BogdanOntanu

for continuing to update your OS, you should request a space as subforum from the masmforum.
i saw most of Operating System Course written by C. you may write a Operating System Course written by masm. though i know it is very very hard works about writing a OS, but i think this will make that many fans can take part in. it is important to train some successors.
another, you may sell your book and gain some moneys.

Hello,JMGK
Quoteas far i know, Solar OS is written using TASM
yes, it is.
maybe BogdanOntanu would like to translate it into masm. because TASM has gone.

TASM is still up an running in C++ Builder releases.
TASM has some features that surpass even today assemblers. Unfortunately it has some bugs also.

I have a license (actually 2 or 3) for TASM but i do not have a license for MASM. The free license of MASM that comes with the SDK does NOT allow new OS development... it only allows development of Windows applications and drivers. Fair enough for a free meal IMHO.

I am working to Sol_ASM: a TASM / MASM clone that will breake this dependency in the future.
And I will also port FASM for who whants it...

Until I finish my own assembler, TASM remains the assembler behind Solar OS.
However TASM is very much similar to MASM ;) and a port of SolarOS in MASM would be fairy easy
