Raspberry as a new standard

Its been a while since im confused with the difference beetween each computers standard. with the coming of this pi device i can focus to a standard and toying with the GPU, i bet once i programming it, it will worked on evey devices like consoles did. I think i'll stick with OpenGl on linux Arm driver.
Im so curious to see how they make it work, there should be only one way to programming the graphic cpu.
