Lunar Eclipse

pretty cool
i can see the moon slowly disappearing in the west as the sun rises in the east  :P

actually, the darkened part of the moon has an orange tint
sunrise isn't for another 35 minutes or so

i remember seeing one like it when i was a kid - that must have been the one in 1963

We had a total solar eclipse on 11 August 1999. I saw the corona for a second, then a big fat cloud obscured it. Nice anyway.
The lunar eclipse tonight was, ehm, very partial. About 5% of the moon was obscured.

The thing is even if its totally cloudy when the US 2017 eclipse comes it will get nearly black out during daylight hours. That will seem strange! :eek

I hope its a bright sunny day though so I can make me up one of those cardboard lunar eclipse viewing thingies. :bg
