Yeah that is. Ever you notice what is the difference beetween monitor and a window on your house?
Light is travel on any direction. But our computer monitor only travel on a straight light, not really straight but it is a straight light. Yes we still can see the image on our monitor from every direction, not like the old computers that only on a spesific distance to see it.

Our monitor is still primitive. Look at your window. When you change your view position, you can see the other side of the room behind it. But not on our computer. Yes we can see the world using OpenGL or DirectX but that is not what I mean. Bassically our monitor is a 2D space. The 3D picture we saw is a 3D image plotted on a 2D space, basicaaly it is a 2D space. Our windows the real 3D, because we can see all of the lights that bounced on every angle, on every direction.

Will we ever to create a monitor that look like our window? Where every transistor on each pixel on our monitor emit multiple lights on the same time?

Show a picture(photography) to an native Indian, and see him looking at the edges of the picture, wondering what was beyond.
Show a mirror to it, and he will find that you have stolen his soul.
Monitors are primitive in my opinion.

Actually it depends how you look at it....

I setup a wii mote to track my movement with a couple of led's on glasses (way cool :8)).... In my 3D environment the perspective changes based on my position just as in the real world....

Will we ever to create a monitor that look like our window?

No, this impossible because there are infinitely possible viewing points ...

(BTW: my monitor is still a three-dimensional structure and not a 2D surface  :bg)

i can see where they might shade or shift light at different angles
that could give the illusion of a 3-d effect
