2012 will be the year to get rid of a few million people who love to theorize about the end of the world, they have to find a new hobby by the end of next year, the question is what will they come up with next. I am willing to place a bet that by the end of 2012, people will still be complaining about global warming, suicide bombers and economical crisis. The only thing that worries me now is the current rising conflict in the Persian gulf. If Iran closes the strait of Hormuz it could become a dangerous situation and an interesting one for Israel they can take advantage of the situation and bomb Iran's nuclear facility.

Speaking of the end of the world I was sitting on the sofa watching the TV when I was almost shook out of my seat. Seems we had one of those rare earthquake events here in eastern Ohio, western PA. Freaked me out. :dazzled:

I did not feel anything here in northern NJ, it might be from "Fracking"  or it might be from the New Midrid fault. There was somethig on the news about a sinkhole in allentown though. There have been concerns about "Fracking" causing problems like this.

After years in Iraq, over 4000 Young Americans killed for nothing, the US on its knees having paid for this stupidity and Americans going hungry in the aftermath and you have not learnt the lesson yet ? Any action by Israel against Iran will see both US and Israeli interests targetted and you know how much the US need to fund another war at the moment.

It is doubtful that Iran can defeat the US but its the Victory of Phyrrus syndrome, if you think the damage done to the US in Iraq was a big deal, you ain't seen nothin' yet, Iran has a cohesive population of about 80 million, it is a large country that is nearly impossible to occupy and they are well armed. Not with 30 year old Russian junk like Saddam but very fast, very modern design missile systems, very high speed torpedo systems, passive radar from the Ukraine, their own satellite system and of course they have the Russians on their back doorstep.

The reason why Iran will never be a nuclear power is for exactly the same reason, they have Russia on their back doorstep and THEY don't want it and we all know who have the really big fast unstoppable NUXE in that area. Iran would simple not be game to try a nuclear attack as they have nothing like the firepower of the major super powers.

Well.. we'll see how stupid barrack can be. I think the US world 'policing ability' is about to come unstuck in a big way.
The US has isolated itself over the past few years, so be careful, as your last few friends might turn their backs on you, and the wolves will be at the door.
