Can one obtain 64bit masm at this site (masmforum) as the masm64.com website indicates?

Nope and I have never worked with MASM64 as the 64 bit version of MASM is not complete.

You might be able to get a 64-bit version of ML from Microsoft.  On <http://www.masmforum.com/simple/index.php?topic=2680.15> I posted info on getting a freebee compiler from Microsoft that should have this, although it comes with the catch that it can only be used for making non-commercial software, i.e. programs made just for personal use and for fun, and that it has some rather steep hardware and OS requirements.  I have not gotten this, so I don't know how to fish ML out of that, and just know that I've tried fishing for ML in Visual C++ 6.0 and could not find it.  But anyway, maybe somebody else knows how to find ML in there.

JFG,

VC6 did not come with ML.EXE, you needed to get it for VC6 from the processor pack. There is a copy on te forum web site. It is ML.EXE version 6.15 which supports SSE2 instructions.

JFG,

Regarding your post:  The Visual C++ Toolkit 2003 doesn't include ML either, let alone ML64.

V Coder,

Visual C++ 2005 was just released (not a beta). The Express Edition is free. I'm not sure if the Express Edition includes ML and/or ML64. I downloaded the .iso and burned a CD, but I have not installed it. I can't tell by looking at the CD. Might be worth a try.

You can get the CD image file here:

Later:  You have to buy the Professional Edition to get MASM 8.0. That sucks. :tdown
