Hello everybody.
I have been working on creating an eBook using Iczekion's tutorials.  I am almost finished at this point and would welcome some critique.  Not everyone likes vanilla ice cream but I would appreciate all the comments - good or bad.  It is 600k compressed and expands to 900k.  Click the right mouse button to copy or print.

There is no install, just place it in a test folder.  The first time it is run it will ask if you want an icon placed on the desktop.

Paul,

I have just donloaded it but the URL appears to require IE to do the download. I get a 404 with K-MELEON.

Checked the file which runs fine but it says I have no java support when I actually have SUN java installed on the machine from Netscape 7.2 that works with K-MELEON and Firefox.

Tutes look nicely done and are clear and easy to read.

Paul,

After just a quick look, it looks good. I'll look through it in more detail.

The link has a "</a>" on the end of it that is causing the problem.

PBrennick

Greg,
I used the URL tags to post the link.  Are you saying I should not?

Hutch,
It does use the IE engine and the SUN support for IE would be needed.  I guess then, that I will have to start over and just use javascript instead of Java.  It's a real disappointment but I am glad you caught it early.

Hutch,
I am going to try to find an eBook compiler that uses mozilla.

Paul,

No, I'm not saying you shouldn't use the URL tags. I'm just saying there is a "</a>" or a "%3C/a%3E" tacked on to the end of the link. I get the same thing in both IE and Firefox. I cut and pasted the link below:

Just trying to help.

When I clicked on the link in Paul's original post I got the same file not found error. I looked at the address and noticed the four extra characters </a> that were mentioned in a previous post. When I deleted them and clicked the go button everything worked fine. I'm using IE but the browser that you're using shouldn't make a difference. It's just the extra characters in the url that is supplied in the original link.

Here's the corrected url: http://www.pbrennick.com/asmtools/tutorials.zip without the extraneous characters.

The ebook looks good, Paul.

Phil,
Thank you for the heads up.  I have repaired the original link and it is now working fine.  When I edited my post, the link looked very strange.  Something odd happened.

Anyway, everybody, please give me some feedback as to this type of presentation.  It is a lot of work but I think it is well worth the effort.  I am still working on the examples portion of the eBook so I will go back to work.

Not being a windoze programmer, but a 16bit dos person, I must admit I am tempted to start learning using the tutorial.
My only immediate observation is the inability to change Font size.
The small font combined with full text lines is overwhelming for me.
Pehaps it is a sign of age.

Seems nice, Paul, very very useful and easy to use.

One thing was when a popup from MSN occurred, the tutorial had a big white box where the popup was, I don't know if you can fix this by making it repaint itself or something.  It's easily repaired by scrolling down and then back up again, though. :U

Hi Brixton,
I am glad that you like it.  About MSN, it is a pain in the ...  :bg

Dinosaur,
Let me see what I can do.
