Howdy folks.  Ran across this forum while I was looking up a MASM question.  I will be honest - I was pretty shocked to find it.  I never run into anyone anymore that knows assembler.  I write C# for a living these days but back in the day I wrote assembler for the 6502, 6800, 8080, Z80, 68000 and finally the x86 family.  Assembler was my favorite, by far.

I'm glad to have found you forum!  I hope I can make a positive contribution!

Thanks!  Around the time I was doing Z80 I was also writing 360 assy.  VERY different from the microprocessor world.  I always preferred to at least have a stack :)

yah - there's a couple that wrote mainframe code, too
i am not one of them - but had a little brush with mainframes in the 70's   :P

I started in the manufacturing side of electronics.  Mainly controllers of some kind or another running CPM and my first TECO editor.  Oh My, what that acronym means today.  I still have some 8 inch floppies around for nostalgia.

When counting cycles, bits and bytes to fit in a memory space and speed of the program was important.
