Ya know,...I like to be well informed about wildlife in places I've never been,...so, I did a GOOGLE search for:
What Is the Most Bizarre Animal in Australia ?,...and,...as you can see,...they're pretty much ALL bizarre,...
But, I discovered an animal that I'd never heard of,...that if you imported it to California (as a domestic pet),...within a matter of days,...all the kids in America would absolutely need one for companionship and fulfilment (making them an endangered species)
But,...in the process you'd become richer that Bill Gates and Warren Buffett combined:

OZ has many uncommon species but that is mainly due to isolation but South America also has many unique species and some derive from the same origin, Gondwanaland.

In the Continental U.S., we get attacks by wild boars,...and, it's like these things are on steroids or something. The victim is usually a drunk hunter. There is a bright side to this issue, though,...there are plenty of predators in Non-Australian nations that are known to kill and devour wild boars.
In keeping with Australia's ecological policy of importing 'control' species that eventually make the original problem alot worse,...here is a list of suggested predators that you might want to consider: tigers, leopards, wolves, large bears, cougars, and, crocodiles. In Australia many piglets are killed by dingos. I would think your native crocodiles would be perfectly suited to the task,...but, if necessary, we can send you an assortment of Grizzly Bears, wolves, and, forty foot anacondas. This could be good for tourism in Australia.
...And, in terms of ecological diversity, it would be much better than importing ugly German nudists,... :eek

Since we have had loonie tune government that banned firearms in OZ, the wild pig population has exploded here and many national parks and large farm properties now have an out of control wild pig problem. In days of old it used to be a respectable pass time to help out country folks by going pig shooting and it kept the pig population well under control. Now if you really wanted to stop them, a 44 Winchester did the job fine, 444 Marlin was even better but a bit of a handful to use and I have seen guys pop pigs with solids in a shotgun.

On the other end I have seen guys empty a 22 automatic into a big pig then drop it and climb a tree, even the ubiquitous 303 did not always stop a big pig but with a 44 Winchester, Ho ho ho, it was like they just hit a Mack truck.  :bg

here in AZ, we have something very similar we call a "javelina" - the J is pronounced as an H
same deal - their skull is very thick
not even sure i'd want to try a .357 magnum on em - lol
