I found this link that had patches (I think) that fixed the problemtrying to run WINFILE, a function in SHELL32.DLL that was not present.

I can find my way around Win7 FAST, not pissing around with an imbecile interface. It is an escapee from the days when computers had FILES on them, not documents, objects, web interfaces etc etc etc .....

I detested Explorer since the days of Win2000 but never got off my arse to write a fast one myself. Noiw that its not an automatic component of the OS it may be even better behaved.

Aren't apps such FreeCommander or Total Commander (or even the clones DOS Navigator) able to replace WinFile?
Excuse me for my ignorant.

There are many replacements but I use Winfile because its a faster interface with large partition counts. Winfile is a File Manager, not a file explorer.

Cool, it works. It has been many years since I used Winfile, it's direct and to the point, no frills. You can even set the font to your own liking. :thumbu
