problems selecting an edit control

does anyone have any idea why i'm unable to select the edit control in the telnet and the SSH child window ?! it shouldn't be anything to do with the code so i haven't bothered uploading any. i'm not able to select either of those edit controls to enter stuff into even though the edit control in the main window ( embedded to the toolbar ) works fine

i'm sure it's a stupid error again.. if it's nothing too obvious i'll have a look again tomorrow after work : [
