Animated gif Avatar

I've just uploaded an animated gif as my "avatar"(?).

I'm not sure I'd want to keep this even if there are no objections.  I think I might find it annoying myself.

But - Is this contra rules, or annoying?

Within reason we don't mind what you use but the general drift with avatars is make sure they are not visually annoying or distracting as it makes it difficult for many people to read the page when such things are visible.
