Well, a while back, I ordered a FREE copy of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2, and have been using the MASM ML.EXE program that shipped with it...for one day now...

I had to comment out the windows.inc part that upset the new ml.exe program, line 14142, that whole STRUCT that was defined, but it compiled my code just fine.

Anybody else have a copy of this ML.EXE and using it?? Just curious, because the only other comment on it, on here, is about it being kind of 'buggy'...

Also, if you know which files I would need to copy, the link.exe file and xml.link.exe doesn't seem to work if I replace that in the working MASM BIN directory???? HELP IF YOU CAN!

I'll be writing more, as I get back into graphics programming again, with renewed life!

I spent some time, in the JAVA 2 Applet creation world, and explored the wonderful and (stupid...I mean exciting) world of XML, and all the other acronym Markup Languages that go with it!

Anyone curious about seeing my web site, I will be updating it later with all my graphics exploration files, but for now you can watch the JAVA 2 Applet with fairly nifty graphics:

...and the source code is on there too.

Hi Jeff,
from time to time, I use ML 8. I just can refer to your old topic, where I report ML 8 bugs which I found.

BTW, I had to comment out that part of windows.inc too, I couldn't figure out why is it not working.

OceanJeff32,

ML 8.00 is a Beta and has several known bugs. I don't use it. There's really no reason to.

OceanJeff32

You're telling me!

I had to switch back to ML 7.whatever because it won't even start the program on my computer at work!

Works fine at home!

Maybe it likes a 1 Gig of RAM... :bdg

Well, ML 8 beta 2 seems to be quite stable for me. I use it because previous versions contain some bugs, which prevent me from symbolic debugging. These bugs seems to be solved in ML 8.

What all files do you need to copy to the masm directories to complete the upgrade?

I know you need ml.exe link.exe and the new ml.exe xml configuration file.

Just curious,

MazeGen,

Maybe this is the problem you were running into. You don't say which version of ML you were using.
