MASM interface with ActiveX

I would like to interface a masm application with NCTAudioPlayer
which is a package of ActiveX controls enabling the playback of
audio files.

Because I have NO C++ and NO COM experience I was hoping that there
was some example code that an absolute beginner in those areas
could understand and modify to my needs.

I have no idea even where to begin.
