Huy Hutch and buddies, thanks for setting this up and keeping MASM going! I have looked around before at these "program Win32 with assembler" sites, and was tempted, but now I downloaded your MASM32 package and like it.  :U

All I had was MASM 5.0, didn't even know you need a different asm for Win32. I mean, I also have VS .Net with its ml, but that's for .Net only, I think. I have not used MASM in about 8 years, except for a little tiny program, and never used it for Windows. I started on the 8 bit Osborne, a Z-80 with CP/M for OS and some assembler I don't even remember the name of. Character-based video, lol.

Then I learned C, and for some years used C and asm. Till I got my 1st IBM compatible, it even had Win 3.0!  :snooty:

Eventually (around Win95se) I decided I needed to learn Winsdows. Now I am VB.Net, my first BASIC progamming! How appropriate that I can do MASM again in the Win32 environment!

Hi rem8bit,

Welcome on board. Alongside the old stuff modern 32 bit assembler is a lot more fun in that you can use the system HLL stuff where you need it and write the grunty stuff where it matters. The version of ML in VS.NET is probably fine for building 32 bit code. Its most probably version 7.10 or similar.

I don't get that much chance these days but I have a left over appreciation of Basic as a language as it simple and fast to code in if its a decent version.
