Hi,

The Windows DDK as it is now known is backwards compatible to Windows 2000. It may support Win 7 but you don't have to use it - just be careful to pick functions supported by the earliest OS you're writing for and you're good to go, allegedly.............

The same is true for the Windows SDK (formerly Platform SDK). I haven't found anything that doesn't work yet.

Best regards,
Robin.

the fact is, the older DDK's/SDK's are the only way to find out what the level of support for different functions was
the MSDN library gets updated with all the new windows 7 stuff
all the old information that applied to win2000 and xp gets lost
if you want to write apps that work on older platforms, you need the documentation
