Hi,

I'd like to announce FreeDOS Debug v1.14.

With this version the source code has been switched from Nasm syntax to Masm. JWasm can also be used, but it needs the newest version v1.95pre.

some ads:

IMO this little app is a true gem. It's 16bit and DOS, but ( and this is a very big 'but'):

- it's just 26 kB, but contains an assembler + disassembler (both 16bit and 32bit)
- it's compatible with MS Debug
- the debugger's code is bimodal, it runs in both real-mode and protected-mode
- it can debug real-mode and 16bit/32bit protected-mode programs
- it's not a toy, you can severly damage your XP system with it if you are admin :-))

It was written by Paul Vojta, currently it is maintained by me.

I've been planning a vmware+freedos excursion for some time now, I've made a mental note to check out this proggy as well.

Ups, thanks!  :thumbu Probably I was too excited and forgot this little detail .. or maybe the link was a victim of the board's censorship - eventually FD Debug is an evil RE tool   :'(
