I've lost it. (happens with age)
Can't remember how I turned "TRACE ON"
This happened running Windows 98 2nd ED.
Thanks,

TRACE for what?
You might need to explain a little more so that someone else knows what on earth you're talking about :bdg

I think he's talking about SIce, but I can't remember either how you enter <<Back Trace Simulation Mode>>, and my documentation isn't here now...

shankle

It's not SICE.
It throws a banner in the upper left hand portion of the screen at boot up time and stays
there all of 2 seconds and is gone.
I'm having trouble with the screen flickering about every 15 seconds or so and I thought
it might be the "trace on". Can't for the life of me remember how it got turned on.

Sounds like the startbar utility of biterider's in ObjAsm32, that was here a while back.

That's all that popped into the brian from your description.

Autoruns and ProcExp from SysInternals are tools you need to go exploring.

When trying to debug an masm32 program I sometimes have gone into a "C" compiler
and tried to use "debug". I have tried to duplicate the debug mode in "C" but have not
had much success. I think I have to turn off "Trace" in the "C" compiler. Just a guess.

Would it be something in "C:\autoexec.bat" ?
