TASM 4.0 on a 64 bit machine - Any way to use it?

Just found your forum. Just bought TASM 4.0 but cannot install it on my 64 bit machine equipped with Windows XP 64 bit.

I sort of lost touch with programming some years ago. Perhaps you can suggest a low cost environment (perhaps some previous software from Borland) which would enable me to use TASM 4.0 on a 64 bit machine (the TASM 4.0 software that I bought was designed as standalone software for a 32 bit machine).

If all you need is to install a 32-bit TASM on Win64 and you failed, try to ask in the Campus where you can get much more audience.

If I remember correctly, TASM 4.0 is an MS-DOS version and it will not run on x64 Windows.

If you are targeting 32-bit, there are many assemblers you can use including MASM32.  If you are targeting 64-bit you can use GoAsm, POASM (from Pelle's C) or ml64 (from Visual Studio or Windows SDK) among others.

there is a 32-bit version of tasm 5 that runs on x64 systems. you could also use lzasm which is compatible with (and actually superior to) tasm in ideal mode.
