Title: Reading help files in Vista
Post by: newAsm on May 10, 2008, 12:17:51 AM
Hi everyone,

I have a new computer that uses Vista. When I use WinAsm and tried to read a *.hlp, the help file doesn't come up, as compared to XP. Is there any software that would allow you to read the *.hlp? The only other way is to go to msdn. Reading from the help file is faster. If you know how, appreciate your sharing how it can be done. Thanks...newAsm

Microsoft have removed winhelp on purpose so they don't allow anyone else to distribute it either. Get the version from your XP distribution disk or download it from Microsoft.

Thanks for info Hutch and Greg. It is much slowly trying to get online than using the help file on the HD. This will speed things up a bit.

Thanks again..newAsm
