Title: Problem with SDK installation
Post by: skywalker on December 31, 2006, 03:01:27 PM
When I run setup, it just opens a webpage saying I need IE 5.5. (Running XP Sp2)

Thanks.

Which SDK exactly??? I presume you are talking about the platform SDK from microsoft. Could you please tell which PSDK (?) you are trying to install.

Have you installed a customized (mostly nLited) Windows XP which can have the IE removed? Maybe if the problem persists, you could install IE6. (The problem is quite odd as XPSP2 has IE6 in it  :red :()

P.S. The IE components are required for the HTML Help.

I had to reassociate the .htm and .html with IE to get the installation to work. Then reverted them back to Netscape.

I only wanted the SDK for the help files. I am trying to find out if there is a way to get H2Viewer to open those help files the same way no matter what directory they are in.(instead of the default \Program Files\Microsoft SDK\Help)
