:tdown

I have had very bad experiences with Dev-C++, from harmless GUI crashes to losing all the work of a day. It's quite surprising that the beta hasn't changed in all that time, given the amount of easy to find bugs in it!

I'm a fan of Dev-C++ too but I have to say that for some reason they have issues with Windows 2003 Server. I have two of these machines and have installed this version on both machines and it only works on one. No reason, it just crashes. These machines were derived from a mirror. I use and earlier version of Dev-C++ and had to uninstall this latest effort and move back to my rusty version (that works just fine).

kerverusxp,
Hi there, I have not seen or heard from you in a while.  Is everything going well with you?  I still appreciate the help stuff.

I have been using (4.9.9.2) Beta for about 1 year now on my XP machine with few problems.
I downloaded Microsofts free Visual C++ Express version the other day and aieeeeeeeee! :eek , talk about ubiquitous. Now all my asm and cpp files have funny looking icons next to them and whenever I click on one they open up in the Visual C++ IDE. I removed and reinstalled Dev-C++ and changed the file associations and all seems to be well. Oh well I guess I can't complain too much since the price was right.
