Title: poasm project beta 1.3
Post by: hutch-- on February 27, 2006, 02:37:02 AM
I have added to this version the latest poasm beta 1.00.12, DLL support and a number of new scripts using the new script engine I have been working on. It has built into the code menu, scripts for console, window and DLL code that should make it much easier to build test pieces with POASM.

Fwiw...

The following three DLLs trigger F-Prot's virus checker:

ADDMENU.DLL
MENUEDIT.DLL
SETINI.DLL

Thanks,

These have been reported before with F-Prot. Its heuristic scanning is not sound.

I have seen these false triggers with fprot before and after testing with other scanning engines decided to disregard those messages.  Actually, I don't even use f-prot anymore.  For some reason, I always return to McAfee and it gives Hutch's stuff a clean bill of health.  The only problem I find with McAfee is a lack of attention to KeyLoggers so I watch for them myself.

Has AVG and Avast! ever given you false postives or is there another reason you haven't used them.

It is only because McAfee does a better job of not hogging CPU time while doing updates while online if I need to use the dial up.  Also, my daughter gave me a free AOL screenname so McAfee is free for me.   Also, for some reason, I never get false positives with McAfee.  All others that I have tried always gave me fits about key loggers and such.  Hey, I am a programmer.  Of course I have several keyloggers in my arsenal.  I don't need to be told, I put them there and wrote them!

At home, I am using Avira Antivirus Personal Edition Classic and I don't have any problem with it.

Hi max,

Welcome on board. The POASM project is still in development but its already a very good assembler which will only keep getting better. Once it is a release version with a bit more documentation, a lot more work can be done on it to make it easier to use.
