Title: windows update.lnk
Post by: shankle on September 12, 2005, 02:45:11 AM
On a friends machine running WINDOWS ME, when trying to go to Windows Update he
gets a message saying that "Windows Update.lnk" is missing. Tried going on the Windows ME CD and couldn't find the file. Wouldn't know where to put the file if I did find it. Tried Microsoft
email and they wanted $35 just to ask a question by e-mail. Nice racket! Tried looking for the file
on Windows 98 and XP. No luck.
Thanks for any help.

AFAIK Windows Update.lnk is a shortcut on the Start menu that normally points to wupdmgr.exe, located in the Windows or System32 directory, depending on the version of Windows.

Windows Me made me alot of money consulting.  I recommend W2K over WMe for just about everything.
