Title: Topics from here to Google
Post by: Robert Collins on June 20, 2005, 02:36:14 PM
How do topic responses from here get on search engines? From time to time as I search for different topic information on google I come accross responses that were generated from here. I have even seen my own at different times.

I think that if someone links to a post somewhere, then a spider can pick up that link and follow it to the post.

i believe their bots (or spiders if you will) are "sent" to many different sites and from there, follow EVERY single link to be found on that site (with some filtering to avoid picking up emails and ads).  then it goes on and on.  that way, the most referenced sites by those "bajillions" of sites are placed in the front of the search (most popular).  thats my theory anyway.
