Alpo is not in the OZ vocabulary, if it is dog food I guess the post makes sense. Years ago the popular dog food here in OZ was PAL and thus the late 70s political slogan, "Vote MAL, eat PAL."

It's a dog food for "non-gourmet" dogs :bg

i take it that by "non-gourmet", you mean that the dog is not to be eaten - lol
as far as dog food goes, alpo is expensive stuff
hash, dash, and alpo - all on the shelf next to each other

well - hash is supposed to be for humans, but it sux as bad as spam
at any rate, canned dog food is expensive
when i've had dogs in the past, they get dry dog food   :U
you can buy a 40 lb bag - and it's still not cheap

Don't laugh, just occasionally I have bought a tin of Spam and shovelled it in. its not all that common in OZ so it is an interesting occasional novelty. As far as canned pet food goes, most of it smells terrible and I learnt this trick with an obnoxious Siamese cat we had years ago, if I liked the smell of something, she did as well and if you made a ham sandwich you suddenly had a friend trying to get her bit of it as well. If you tried to feed her ordinary cat food you would get this dirty look, she would shake her foot at it and walk off.

I found these boutique tins of cat food that smelled OK which she would eat but she would not touch anything that she did not like.

A dog is a Human's pet, but a Human is a cat's pet,  They know they are the bigest predators, of royal lineage and if we don't treat them like they deserve, their big cousins will come and set things straight

Carlos, you must have co-habited with a cat or more correctly a cat allowed you to support their lifestyle.  :bg

not a big fan of cats
however, they are a must if you live on a ranch or farm
keeps the mice population down - and rattlesnakes shy away, even though cats might not win a confrontation
still - my idea of a cat is an outside critter   :P

Actually cats are better 'watchdogs' than dogs. Well they don't f'ing bark all day, and if you 'tune' into them, cats are pretty wired for the minutest sound and react promptly.

Since my wife open the out door for me, I have lived with *two* female cats, and is like having two wives, I care for them, they keep me warm in winter, stuck their claws in my ankle if I move in bed, and of course, NO SEX  :eek  :eek  :eek
