Title: Mountain Biking is Dangerous as Hell
Post by: baltoro on February 28, 2012, 08:33:32 PM
I read an article in this month's Outside Magazine (http://www.outsideonline.com/) about a Mountain Biker being attacked by a hartebeest antelope in South Africa.
Weird,...I thought,...is this some kind of ugly Darwinian backlash ???
Anyway,...I found the You Tube version of the incident: Mountain Biker gets taken out by BUCK, CRAZY Footage, Only in Africa (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2oymHHyV1M)
I sure hope the hartebeests don't start attacking Canadian hockey players,... :eek
Hopefully, this kind of hostility is restricted to the Southern Hemisphere, as serious diplomatic-political-military repercussions could potentially cripple the world economy.

I get the impression that there are enough places in Africa where you could end up at risk but I doubt it has much to do with mountain bikes. Now if you were in Gosford NSW OZ and tried to ride a mountain bike in the enclosure where our superstar Crocodile "Elvis" resides, the mountain bike may suffer the same fate as the running Victa lawn mover suffered (chewed up and drowned in his pond).
