If you get hit with 200kg of de-orbiting space junk the material your umbrella is made of will be mostly irrelevant.

They are not doing too good. They lost 3 Glonass (Russian-GPS) birds last December because they overfilled one of the fuel tanks (fill level computed with wrong tank diameter, if I recall)
