It had to happen sometime.
Largest gadget maker to replace workers with 1 million robots
http://dvice.com/archives/2011/08/worlds-largest-15.php
hmmmmm
sounds like a job opening, to me :P
An old fella who used to be one of my customers had a theory about robots, he called them workers. tell them to DO THIS and they DO THIS, tell the to DO THAT and they DO THAT.
The mechanics are that anything that is cheaper to do with a machine gets done by a machine and as technology get both better and cheaper, more and more things will be done by machine. Contrary to popular myth these technical improvements don't improve society, they just concentrate capital into an ever narrowing base and more and more people go hungry.
As wages and living standards go up in China, the work is shifting to ever poorer countries, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand where there is an exploitable population at an even lower cost. The stuff that goes this way are the things that automation cannot yet do well, rag trade and fiddly electronics but with component re-design and market massaging, these will disappear over time as well.
someone has to build, program, and maintain the robots
the workers just need to do some homework
And someone need to redesign the newest robot, managing the marketing, creating newest OS, update the software, maintaing the project etc. Youre right dave, sounds like a job opening. Anyway, we could be just a manager with this robot comings, they become our worker, and me are supervising it. If somebody did not mess up the the jnz instruction with jz, surely, it could kill us. :green
anyway, have a look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJ4J69EEpu4&NR=1&feature=fvwp this is what Im looking for, I hope someday it had a price as low as my blade motorcycle, I need this to do farming. Autonomous would be gladfully :green
