Title: My opinion about this forum
Post by: Ani_Skywalker on July 10, 2011, 10:09:54 PM
Hi,

I've been on a couple of forums contributed to programming languages over the years.

I joined here a year ago and I was very new to assembly. Still I realized very soon nobody was going to mock me for it. I didn't reflect about that more then, but a couple of weeks ago me and a friend discussed IT-forums and how often people who where better picked at newcomers. We both had the same experience with sun's Java-forums whom we both ranked as the worst.

When we started to look at the other end of it and rank our best forums I immediately come to think about how hutch-- and jj2007 showed me jumps by writing examples that I could use in the first asm-program I ever tried to write. In the Java-forums they would have jumped on both me and the guys handing the solution like hungry dogs fighting over a piece of meat. I know, I once handed a guy a solution to teach him how recursive algorithms work and boy did I get it.

Anyway, for what it's worth, thank you for an awesome forum!

Ani, thanks for the head up, we have a few special rules here, members are human beings, no irritating little sh*tz or talking heads and no bullsh*t pecking orders, just other human beings that do their best in their spare time trying to help out other members.

Its been the case that most of the older guys here have had to learn this stuff the hard way back in the old days when you had to buy everything at high cost, in the internet age this should not happen and a lot of the older guys do their baest to make sure the skills of old are passed down to folks who want to write their code in a professional manner.

Glad you like the place.  :U
