yah - what we used to call "transformer oil"
you could probably use vegetable oil
i ain't trying it with mine, though - you try it and let me know how it goes   :lol

I would be worried that the oil would attack some of the many polymers used in the construction of the components.

I used to play.. hmmm!! work, with old mobile xray machines  which had a few gallons of HT oil plus some really large Caps (~100KV).
The mobile was of a solid metal structure and did it go bang when the oil or caps malfunctioned.

It was kinda depressing as you stood there very intelligently fixing their machine, and something you have little control of goes...POP!!.
This loud supressed dull thud travels throughout the medical practice... and you say to yourself.... Oh Phuck!! Now they're going to blame me  :bg

I eventually hardened myself and would tell them on regular occasions that it was like servicing a car.. if you don't, it will pop... but this pop is very expensive (~ 5K USD)
