Ever you think how can we alive? How can we see, touch, sense? How can we be alive? What are we? Body is just a supporting machine to support our life. What is the true us? How can we can use it like it was part of us.
That question confunsing me.
There is no answer to that question. If you ask why animals exist, why rocks exist, why idiots exist, why we exist, you'll never have an answer.
It's just the way things are, we are part of the universe and in the universe there are living things and non-living things.
Why do we have a universe? That question is beyond us to answer, we are like players inside the game, we can only do the things we can do.

Your ego wants to make the claim that your senses is an entity, but its not. Your senses is limited to the environment. Your arm is part of the environment, its just an accident that it happens to connected to the rest of your body. Death is not an entity, its just a change of form of the matter in your body, it takes a different form, perhaps its easier to grasp if you think of death.
Its your ego that wants to categorize your senses as an entity.
Its probably easier to understand if you have come to an understanding that this world is godless, without gods. Think of the universe, look at the planets, moons and stars and lets imagine god for a moment. How creative was god to create billions of billions of circular objects. Is that very creative? It looks more like a pattern to me, this pattern is circular because gravity is radial, it makes perfect sense.
Religion has taught us for thousands of years that we are an entity in our own.
well - if you are searching for the meaning of life - the question itself tells you something
"I think, therefore I am" :P
if you step back and look at the big picture - life may not have much meaning at all
we are doomed, no matter what - eventually, everything the race of man has done will disappear
if you WANT it to mean something, you have to take a step back in toward the smaller picture
i see names in history books - names that i would otherwise have never heard of
from Cleopatra to Einstein - does it mean they were more important - just because they did something that got their name in the book ?
i hope there is more to life than getting your name in a book someplace
i think - what you really leave behind - is how you have influenced others by interacting with them
each of us learns and adapts, according to experiences in life
each time we interact with another person, it changes their perception of the world in some small way
in your life, you influence hundreds or thousands of people a little bit
all your interactions with others is equivalent to creating the complete perception for ~1.0 persons
what you leave behind when you are gone, is an imprint of your behaviour

It pains me a lot to see a attractive girl, something that cannot be reached. The more I want her, the more I realize that I was nothing, and it pain me.

sadly, woman tend to pick young and beautiful looking men. There are all kinds of theories out there that they prefer older men, rich men, whatever it may be, but thats a load of nonsense. Woman PREFER good looking guys, period. Lucky for me im a good looking guy and I get beautiful woman, i've been with a model woman and I can get pretty much what I want, but its not easy being that guy either, I can tell you that. Its not easy at all because you have to be prepared for the days when you're not that guy anymore, age catches up with everyone.
I dont believe in love or love stories, im a 100% atheist and I see humans/woman as animals, cheerful animals that you can have a good time with. And I am confident that woman, sooner or later will abandon you for something better.

are you sure you're as good looking as you say ? :lol
must be a rose-coloured mirror

.....if you close one eye and squint with the other

I don't use mirror for that, I use returned compliments for that. :P
I didnt know the mirror was a good instrument for measuring that. :dazzled:
you don't suppose attitude has something to do with it ?

Attitude and good looks is not mutually exclusive. If a woman give you compliments on your looks, you can assume she is telling the right thing or you can deduce that she is being nice to you. Its all up to you :lol

From my POV...
The main problem with single people is that they think they need a partner, and make this one of their main occupations.
They tend to overstress about this and when meeting a partner, proceed to stuff it up because they're too occupied trying to resolve the perfect relationship question.
Here's what I did..
When I was young, i partied like crazy, drunk as much beer as possible, slept in my car because I shouldn't drive in such as state. On waking up went straight to the beach for a long days surf (no cleaning or washing - did that 2 days later). You wouldn't see me from Friday till Monday.. and I still wouldn't be able to tell you where I'd been. Girls... nah!.. beer and waves, sunrises and sunsets....UNTIL I suggested to my now brother-in-law (who incidently was also a party animal) that I should join his crowd for a booze cruise.
I met his sister when I was 'wild-n-crazy', but she liked that :U - at first I ignored her, but after another chance meeting, things got very hot and it's been a permanent 'barbie' since.
Moral of the story:
Woman want things they cannot have (like most of us).. and if you're 'unavailable' it creates a desire in them... enjoy your life while you're single (parties/the great outdoors/ etc) - don't go looking for 'sex'... it'll come to you in good time :wink
edt: ... and it's got nothing to do what you look like.. as Joe Jackson says "Pretty woman, out walking with gorillas down my street..". :wink
there is some truth in what Van says
the best way to "approach" women is not at all - lol
"nonchalant" is your best attitude - as though you couldn't care one way or the other if she goes out with you
i guess they like to think it's a challenge or something
so - let em tame the beast :bg

That's for sure.. :bg
One does realise this when you're younger and full of testosterone, coz all you want to do, is.... you know :wink
But after .. how long has it been now... hell's, 30 years, you'll realise people like their 'trophies', to be able to say he's mine (she's mine) - a control thing.
Think of it as fly-fishing, throw the bait out and pulling it away again... drives them crazy... but that depends on how long you can handle your own torture :green2
But if you suddenly notice a 'fish' circling your bait longer than normal, that's when you go in for the 'kill'. Don't dive into the river with fishing rod, bait box and all th eother stuff... take it easy, things might just speed up very fast. Maybe it works out, maybe not, but you'll never know until you try.
Always be gentle
:U
How on earth did I get onto fly fishing?? ... must have been the fishy smell !! :eek
Vanjast,
Your story is an inspiration to all of us. :eek
...There's something profoundly Darwinian about your approach,...

When I was young, I had three sisters. And, so,...(and, don't get the wrong idea here) I always treated the women that I was attracted to as if they were my sister.
Some women can't stand that,...(and, they are the ones to avoid, anyway) and some women are completely comfortable with it.
You gotta be natural. From a psychlogical point of view, you want to be trusted,...because, you also want to be able to trust her. If you eventually have kids, this will be essential.
This is an interesting but kind of complex answer:

Ja this is another good point...
You have to get this sorted out from the very beginning.. no 'iffy' stuff, unless you're 'just going to be friends'
When I first met the wife, I asked 2 straight questions..
1) Do you have a boyfriend ? ('No!' ... 'Good!')
2) If we're going to 'go out', there's no messing around, otherwise I'm not interested - Are you OK with this? (OK... Good)
Edt: Didn't have time to finish this last night..
So once having 'ironed out' the basics, both of you must stick to the 'rules'. It's hard going sometimes, but in the long run, worth it in the end.
:U
Having said this, it makes me laugh..
The wife, myself and the 2 boys were sitting there talking in the lounge.
Our eldest is 18 in June (no girlfriends yet - too busy with sport and academics - this works wonders :green2 ) and the wife asks him what the latest 'chat-up' lines that the boys of today use. So me and my big mouth ' Hey, if you're interested in her, ask her ' Have you got a boyfriend', if no, then ask her out. Don't waste time 'fa.r.ting' around'.
They all roared with laughter saying that this was sooo stupid... to which I replied to the wife... 'you've forgotten how we started', and reminded her :P.
The best was within the minute of this discussion.. on TV, this guy has just met this girl and guess what he asks her !!!!! 'Have you got a boyfriend ?'.
I turned to the family and laughed... and then I got all sorts of animations from them. :green2
I think the purpose/meaning of life is to perpetuate life itself. Maybe the idea of anything meaning anything
is more an artifact of the way the human mind works than any sort of reality ( the human mind always seeks to
find organization and stability in its environment so as to interact properly ). And given the cold hard fact that
time will slowly but surely erase every trace of human existence , culture and knowledge its not hard to argue
that anything that ever "occurs" is more or less arbitrary. It sort of reminds me of the Shakespeare line
"[life is ] .. a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
I guess we never know what is life and create a new life. I wonder if we create something like robot and we think that it is alive and decide to end our lives, it was stupid.
Nice explanation from carl sagan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SHc67Hep48
I always wonder why our heart beats?
What makes it beat and not stop?
It is the preprogrammed job of the individual cells in the hear to beat.... The cells themselves 'beat'.... http://www.cellsalive.com/myocyte.htm

There are 3 parts of our brain, the reptiles part, mamal parts and the last neo cortex.
It is on the reptiles part the heart beat function is hardwired. All of the 2 parts exclude the neo cortex put there to make us survive, even though we did not need it, but still it still force us to listen to em, they just make sure we keeping alive. And it is the neo cortex that able to make us do analysis, like talking, figuring out what is on people mind through their facial gesture etc. It is VERY ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. And all of that function is only writen on sperm, and that "software" build their own hardware inside womb.
My hipotesis is, we are literaly a light, deep inside our brain, an electron that jump from neuron, to neuron, "feeling" information, one by one, bit by bit. Maybe.
I turn 60 in another month and I can tell you what life is; it's what you regulars need to go out and get. So go out there and get one. Once you do, live it and love it, because in a blink of an eye it'll be all over. :bg
:bg
Life is a lottery, you have to be in it to win it. The meaning of life is what you do with it, if its sitting in a corner silently sobbing while brushing away the tear stains, then that is the meaning of life. If its skiing down Mount Everest and actually getting to the bottom, then that is the meaning of life. Most look for something inbetween but the actions is getting off your arse and doing something, those who wait do nothing and get nothing.

If it was right, I guess that limbic system is the real us. The operator of this body. WE, the one who felt this and that.
