Title: Source code demos and intros?
Post by: gyurybaci on January 27, 2011, 09:14:31 PM
I've been always fascinated by the intros and demos.
I'd like to see a source code of something like that.
Here's what i'm talking about: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=56485
Is anyone able to code such thing?

I know it's about the device independent bitmap, but i've searched the forums for sources and found nothing

Maybe you could download something and debug it. Intros are usually small. Shouldn't be too hard to find. I don't think i'm allowed to give you directions because intros are mostly used in cracks and keygens. Bye

I don't see why you aren't allowed to help me since i only ask for sources of demos and intros. They have nothing to do with illegal things.
If you can help me please do so. Thanks

There used to be a time when demos was pure and didnt ship with cracks. Back in the days of the amiga you had pure demos without having to do with reverse engineering. Unfortunately, groups like skidrow and such have ruined this by introducing graphic and music art with their cracks.

I think that skidrow spends more time on their music than on the actual illegal coding so I tend to look at them more as a competitor to linkin park.  :dazzled:

http://www.scene.org/ is nice for demos, but there won't be much source code; naturally people want to keep their secret techniques to themselves.

Are you looking for fast drawing in general, or specifically how to make pretty patterns?

Some demos and intros as well as links are at the FASM board (http://board.flatassembler.net), search for 256b.
FASM code is easy to convert to MASM (or maybe you will convert to FASM. :bg).
