Title: TRON
Post by: Bill Cravener on December 01, 2010, 06:17:28 PM
Remember the old 1982 movie TRON with actor Jeff Bridges??

At the time I thought it a bit corny but like other events in my life back then it continued to spike my interest in computers.

Anyway they did a remake called TRON: LEGACY.

I'll have to rent it when it comes out! :bg

I think the key feature of this movie is they have Jeff Bridges in it at the age he was in 1982 with a clever 'S1mone' style digital reincarnation.... Now you can be sure that whatever you see on TV can be faked to a degree of perfect realism.... There is no longer any need for highly paid actors or even presidents and tv politicians.... They truely have been automated out of a job....

(It's not like the buck really stops with them is it :lol)

I saw Tron as a kid (I was about 4 when it came out on TV)

This is the first movie I care about seeing in 3D at a good theater.  I was starting my third career--computer science--when the original TRON came out.  I convinced my girlfriend to see TRON and Raiders of the Lost Ark with me that year; I had to go with her recommendations for the next year and a half after that.  She hated sci-fi and snakes.

Looking forward to the new TRON.
