Title: K-Meleon
Post by: shankle on November 21, 2010, 03:13:09 PM
A new Beta version 1.6 is out.
Afraid to put it on and mess up 1.5
It came out on Nov. 13th.
Guess I will wait a month and then update.

Hi shankle,

You could try to convert V1.6 beta to the portable version. Here is the explanation:

Hi Vortex,
Don't think I can use that as I am still using floppies.
Next puter will force me to change I think.

It was mentioned on the K-meleon forum about renaming/moving the existing
Profile thereby avoiding the conflict. Then I ask what about the other 3 places
I have found profiles for K-Meleon?

It would be nice to test the beta as there is an error in 1.5 on the SatelliteGuys
site caused by Javascript. It is supposed to be fixed in 1.6. They put on new
software and caused the problem. Then they said they never heard of K-Meleon.

Hi shankle,

My apologies, I forgot to tell that my portable K-Meleon is placed on my system partition. You could try this approach :

C:\Program Files\K-Meleon

The K-Meleon folder contains all the folders and files of the portable browser. You don't need any external medias like USB sticks or floppies to create the portable version of K-Meleon. You can put all your portable applications to your hard disc.

Hi Vortex,
This message is coming to you from K-Meleon 1.6.0_beta_en-us.7z.
Seems to be working just fine.
One small problem, the font size is huge and spilling over the end of the screen.
Will have to spend a week trying to find out how to fix it without screwing
up something else.

Couldn't get version 1.6.0_beta_en-us.exe to work.
Regards,
Jack
