go to: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-vtune-performance-analyzer-for-windows-documentation/
download: VTune™ analyzer help [ZIP 20.2MB]
find inside the zip: Instruct32.chm
bonus: the chm file is unnecessarily big, use HTML Help workshop to decompile it and remove the pdfs (or leave it and have an AIO package :wink - the pdfs are the "manuals")
bonus2: cool page that I bumped into. lists all amd/intel simd instructions http://softpixel.com/~cwright/programming/simd/
have fun
:8)
drizz,
Thanks for the Intel link, the CHM file is very useful. Is it me or just old age but I cannot find PDF files in it, it does link to the Intel site as far as I can tell.
thanks for link :U
For me a good combination is reference.chm+Instruct32.chm+coach.chm
Cool stuff :U
thanks Drizz
the softpixel site also has some cpuid info...
http://softpixel.com/~cwright/programming/simd/cpuid.php
he says he plans to update the info
i have been watching the site for about a year - no updates yet :P
i know how it is - it is sometimes hard to find time to work on a freebie info site
I decompiled the CHM file and found the dead PDFs. Had to reconstruct a HHP file for it but the finished size is just over 600k and its tectnically a good file to have available.

Quote from reference.chm:
The Intel Pentium 4 processor delivers this world-class performance for consumer enthusiast and business professional desktop users as well as for entry-level workstation users.

JJ,
It DID some years ago. The 3.8 gig PIV processor I have sleeping on my desktop had a price tage of about $850 US when it was released.
Has anyone got a similar link (preferably also chm or html) for AMD?
