Title: Tough without a mouse
Post by: Gunner on January 07, 2010, 03:38:06 AM
My MS Optical mouse that I had for over 5 years went on my yesterday, would stop working after a while, reboot and would work for a bit.  Got a new Logitech cordless laser mouse (is it a mouse or weapon?)  Much more sensitive and hey, no more cord!  weeeeee... anyways, found out that many programs nowadays are not keyboard only friendly!  Used to be able to get around and do anything in programs with just a keyboard, nope, not anymore....  Oh, well new mouse yippeeee..  maybe new keyboard this week dunno, like the feel and sound of a 6+ year old MS Natural keyboard... no extra keys and just feels good...

Rob,

I hate techno gimmicks and in computer terms that is anything you must put batteries in. I deliberately use both a mouse and keyboard that are wired into the computer, these days both Microsoft. I tend to wear this stuff out but they rarely ever fail.

Because we were living in semi-remote western Victoria, it was a pain in the rear when the wife's mouse packed it in. It meant that i gave her my mouse and had to make do with MouseKeys. (left Alt + left Shift + NumLock) It was clunky, annoying and drove me nuts to begin with. Sadly, i got used to it and when i finally got her new mouse 3 weeks later, i had gotten used to using the num pad as my mouse. I kept reaching for it even though i had my mouse back.

I have the same problem also Hutch, they just dont make mice like they should anymore, instead opting for the plan that if it dies, we'll have to shell out more.
