Post by: shankle on November 15, 2009, 12:21:48 PM
Eset SS found a virus on 10/26/09.

MASM32/fda2.exe
Win32/virut.nbp.exe

Posted for information only.
Maybe Hutch  would want to take a look.

My puter is safe.

I scan using the latest definition update (4608), and it's fine.
No virus detected.

Hi shankle,

That's a false positive detection.

Please explain a little Hutch.
Does this mean that ESET is a no good anti virus program. It has worked fine for me.
Thanks JPS

Jack,

Eset is one of the good ones but it is still possible to get a false positive depending on how its set up.

FDA2.EXE is supplied with its own source code so there is nothing wrong with it so the only conclusion is that there is something wrong with the AV scanner or its settings. Perhaps send the source and EXE to Eset and ask them to fix their problem but it is THEIR problem, not the file that they flag.
