Title: Newer ml.err ?

I am using Masm 8.0 dated 4/21/2006 but my ml.err file is dated 7/21/2001.

Is there a newer version or is the file incorporated into Masm 8.0?

I have ml 9.0, no ml.err. The one that comes with ml 6.15 dates 16 March 2000 and is identical to yours (9687 bytes).

Magnum,

I don't think the later versions of ML.EXE use an eternal error file, I think they contain the error text internally.

I deleted the ml.err and have had no problems.

ml.exe supplied with VS 2010 beta 1 does not have any .err file.
