Title: Windows Time
Post by: sinsi on August 04, 2009, 06:22:43 AM
Looking through the event log on my system and found the following error:
QuoteNtpClient was unable to set a manual peer to use as a time source because of DNS resolution error on ''. NtpClient will try again in 3473457 minutes and double the reattempt interval thereafter. The error was: The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found. (0x80072AFC)
3473457 minutes? 6 years? I'm pretty sure that the win7rc I'm using won't work by then...
Next failure means waiting 13 years  :lol

well - that just means you don't have to look at another error for that long - how nice   :bg
that makes it appear to be very reliable
unless you need DNS, i have mine disabled
mainly because i have a huge HOSTS file, and it speeds things up a bit of it doesn't have to go through DNS
