Hi Rahul
Learning 16-bit code is not difficult at all. But, I am afraid it is quickly becoming obsolete. You may want to consider learning 32-bit code
to start with, and save yourself some time. If you still want to learn 16-bit code, we have a special forum just for that. Either way,
welcome to the MASM32 forum.

Hey, guys, isn't this the safe area for new programmers? :naughty:
Anyway, I got a lot out of this series of tutorials: http://win32assembly.online.fr.

Fair enough, though there is a separate forum for 16-bit code. In either case, the best book I've ever read is the Peter Norton Assembly Language Book for the IBM PC (albeit somewhat outdated), ISBN 0-13-661901-0. It can generally be found used for just the cost of shipping. Let's hope the OP continues to contribute to the forum and give back to others after the semester is over...

thanks redskull....
if you don't mind can you give some idea like from where to start??how to???
Rahul, I used Iczelion's tutorial to get started, but have switched over
to Kip Irvine's, now that I have the basics down.
Both are available online (google)
Haha, so desperate !
good to see such enthusiasm, eh BlackVortex :U
We actually have clear rules about students asking other people to do their work for them and grovelling to get assistance. If a student will do their own university course work, they will get help here but no-one will do the basics for them.
thanks dedndave...thanks for your support....
I'm not asking others to do my job....I'm just asking for their help....to get me started...i tried studyng my university book but it isn't clear enough, for a beginer....thats y i asked help here....
redskull...thanks for that book...really its a very good book....now i'm getting something..i can understand litl bit now
I will drive the point again, this forum is not an online university for students who have not grasped the basics of their course work, you have a lecturer to help you with the basics and a course designed to get you up and going, this is YOUR responsibility, not OURS.
If you put in enough work to get the basics of your course, people here will help you if they can but no-one will do it for you and no-one here is responsible for what you fail to understand.
ok...what u thnk??i'm just sitting and asking here for help..no i'm giving my best..to learn basics, i just asked for some help...i didn't said that u guys have to help me..i just requested them to help me...if u can't don't help me...but let others, who can, help me...i know its my responsibility to lear basics...and i'm doing so...
:wink
take it easy, you can do anything in here, this forum just for you.

Yep, that's exactly the problem: You are just sitting there and asking for help. Instead, you should do what we all have done here, i.e. install the Masm32 package, start studying the examples folder and the help files, and then try your luck with very basic examples. If that is still too difficult, you may try RichMasm (http://www.masm32.com/board/index.php?topic=9044.msg73814#msg73814), it has examples where you just press a button (F6) and wow, you are programming in assembler (if that is too difficult, try Visual Basic).
Come back when you need help with
your first code.
Problem solved, our friend can come back when he has learnt to read the rules.
