The RTC interrupt is generated once every second - to indicate the time has changed.

You implied that the update complete interrupt is enabled. I'm just trying to provide accurate answers.

Micro is using an OS, it's likely that the update signal is enabled in any case. And since he was asking about programming the rtc, I think it's safe to assume it is enabled - whether this is already done by him or the OS is no matter.
