I caught it on our local news yesterday. They are in fact cheeky bastards, if you sit in Hyde Park for lunch they walk up to you and if they can they pinch part of your lunch.

Must be the climate, once years ago in the country I was sitting at an outdoor table for breakfast and this sparrow flew onto the table and pinched a piece of my toast.
