Archive extractors

Just curious as I'm getting a lot of corrupt downloads on large 7zip files (>100MB)...

Are there quirks with the latest compressors that will not work with older decompressors ??
Maybe I'm forced to find the latest decompressors ??

i have had no problems   :P

7-zip is at rev 9.20 or 9.22 beta
i have been using 9.22 beta for about 3 months with no troubles

I'll give it a try...

I seem to be having a problem with only large Z files... I'm not sure whether it the 7Zip compressor, extractor, download or disk/memstick.

thanks for the link Donkey, i'm always on the look out for better software and some of the most useful (and resource light) programs on my computer have been recommended by the guys on this forum.

for years i've been using 7zip which has been great. but this IZarc seems to support more compression formats as well as the ability to repair damaged archives plus 256bit AES encryption if you need it, i think its time for a change :lol

When I've had trouble with large files across the internet in the past, it usually has to do with a routers firewalling, NAT, or a transparent proxy/cache. Check the router firmware. Does your ISP use any traffic-shaping?

Are the file corrupt at the source, ie can you pull them via a different ISP, or can others download them without error? TCP should provide immunity to corruption in transit. Is the corruption in the body of the data, or are the files truncated?
