Yes. NZ is a great place (compared to where you are now it is paradise).

Had some friends emigrate to Christchurch before the quakes, now I think they are less sure about the move, but it is a beautiful place.

I won't put too much reliance on this at the moment, as it's early days. If it does work out.. I'm already packed  :lol

I'd say to a larger degree that quakes are predictable, but stats wise, with our crime rate and all the other downsides, I'd take my chances in NZ anytime.

If you are going to Kiwiland, go to the north island, its warmer. The top of New Zealand is about level with Tasmania so you can get used to the idea that winters are cold there, especially in the south island.
