There has to have been some fun in this but I missed it. Had a problem with my dev box that damaged 2 x 1 tb disks so I bought 2 new ones, put them in the i7 box instead, took out 2 older 320 disks from the i7 and put them into the 3.8 gig PIV and took 2 even older 320 disks out of it and put them into my oldest PIV, a 2.8 gig Northwood. I had a spare pair of 500 gig disks that I put back in the dev box so everything is backup up and all is working.

I did have one strange effect that may have been responsible for the first pair of disks failing, after the machine had been on for a long time, every so often the lights for the 2 disks would lite up as if they were hunting each other. When I removed the 2 original disks and put in the 2 500s it would occasionally do the same thing so i turned off the write back characteristic and it stopped.
