Is it just me,or does it strike you as kinda odd, that someone(politition,Big name golfer,Preacher) can do something way over the top concerning very bad behaivor. Then they spend perhaps a week in a "Rehab" and they have seen the light, and all their bad behaivior is forgiven. Just caught the news, and Weiner(sp)(the latest internet scandel) is taking time to enter "Treatment" to remain a senator.
There was that Preacher(Tedd Haggered) Very anti-Gay caught with a Male hooker and some coke. Tiger woods(the clean and shiny role model) doing anything that moved. A little time in "Rehab" and its like they went to a church that does "Healings".

If I rob a bank, can I blame it on Coffee,or Beer, enter "Rehab" and get away scott free?

Also I wanted to say I hope dave is ok, what with that fire raging in Arizona!

yes - i saw that in the news
we have been getting them every year, now
very hot and dry - plus many of the trees have been infested with "bark-beetles", which saps all the moisture out of them
it's really ruining a lot of beautiful forest all over the western US

at the moment, i am still in Michigan
Dad died a few days ago, so we will be going back early for the services

Sorry to hear that Dave, my condolences. I've been there and had to deal with that (as I'm sure most all us old timers have).

I'm sorry about your dad, Dave. I too have had to deal with that, and not that long ago.

Sorry to hear of your loss Dave,as others have mentioned My dad died about 15 years back. In his case it was almost a blessing. He was paralyzed for many years, after being mugged, hit with a blackjack. he spent almost 12 years in a home. He was a HEAVY drinker, and the doctor said he had a doily for a liver. he couldn't talk, but I could see in his eyes his misery from being pretty much a Veg. That was why I said it was almost a blessing.

Dave,

Like many others here I lost my dad about 16 years ago so I have some idea of what you have been through. Its good to hear that he went peacefully and was being taken care of by his own.
